Polman and Rapid Bucharest Reach Romanian Cup Semifinals
Estavana Polman and her team, Rapid Bucharest, have secured a place in the semifinals of the Romanian Cup after a convincing 33-24 victory over Targu Jiu. Dunarea Braila, CSM Bucharest, and Bistrita are also still in the running for the title.
Things look less promising for Polman’s team in the league. They currently trail league leaders CSM Bucharest by a significant 12 points. In the Champions League round of 16, Rapid will face none other than CSM Bucharest, setting up a thrilling encounter.

Den Bosch Still on Track for the Playoffs
The men of Den Bosch remain on course for the playoffs. In the first three matches after the winter break, the team—featuring JDH stars Koen Bijen, Joppe Wolbert, and Tom Sorsby—secured seven points. As a result, they now hold a comfortable seven-point lead over Rotterdam, the fifth-placed team in the standings.
Despite this strong position, Den Bosch is far from guaranteed a playoff spot. After this Sunday’s match against HDM, a series of tough encounters against top teams awaits. However, one thing is certain: Koen, Joppe, Tom & Co. are well on their way.
Bloemendaal Struggles After the Winter Break
Before the winter break, Bloemendaal’s engine was running smoothly, but now it's struggling to get back up to speed. In the first four matches after the break, the team—including JDH players Jasper Brinkman, Jan van 't Land, and Teun Hogenhout (who was recently added to the squad)—managed to collect just six points.
Losses against lower-ranked SCHC and Klein Zwitserland have nearly erased their once-comfortable lead over the second and third-placed teams. This weekend, Bloemendaal faces a crucial match against Rotterdam, followed by a showdown with reigning national champions Kampong. The outcome of these matches will be decisive in determining their title chances.
