Every weekend, there are dozens of athletes representing us. On the field, on the road, and on the track; wherever high-level sports are being played, JDH is there. In this weekly feature, we keep you updated on the athletic performances of 'our' athletes. This week, we are focusing exclusively on hockey.

Unleash your power!

ABN Cup claimed by Bloemendaal

On the eve of a new top league season, as usual, the battle for the ABN Cup took place. On the fields of Rotterdam, Bloemendaal won the final seemingly effortlessly against Klein Zwitserland: 4-0. JDH player and recent signing Jan van 't Land was able to immediately add his first trophy. Jasper Brinkman did not take part in the tournament for the 'Mussen' due to injury.

Joppe Wolbert and Tom Sorsby, playing for Den Bosch, narrowly missed out on third place after a spectacular match against Kampong (3-4). In the women's tournament, Pinoké lifted the trophy at the expense of fellow Amsterdam-based team Hurley. JDH players Marente Barentsen and Cis van der Salm participated for the losing finalists.

Lukas Windfeder defeated with Uhlenhorst Mülheim in Season Opener

Lukas Windfeder did not have a great start to the season with Uhlenhorst Mülheim. Visiting TSV Mannheim, the team from West Germany lost 2-1. The penalty corner specialist also lost the Olympic final with Germany in early August. The Netherlands proved too strong in Paris after a shootout.

Next Friday, Uhlenhorst Mülheim will play their second match of the season. They will face league leaders and title favorites Rot-Weiss Köln at home.

Belgian clash ends in a draw

This weekend, the highest Belgian league kicked off with a thrilling match. Dragons hosted Racing Bruxelles in Brasschaat, featuring JDH stars Augustin Meurmans, Sam Winners, and Oscar Berton. The match ended in a 2-2 draw, keeping both teams undefeated.

In the game between Braxgata and Beerschot, there was a winner. The home team, with Loick Luypart on the field, won 3-2 against Beerschot. New Zealander Dylan Thomas and his team Herakles defeated Namur (3-1) and are now joint league leaders.

The Dutch Hoofdklasse is also kicking off this weekend

Following most hockey competitions, the Dutch Hoofdklasse will start again this Saturday (September 14). The women's league begins with a match between Oranje-Rood and SCHC, while the men's season opener will feature the newly promoted Hurley against SCHC. Both games start at 4:30 PM.
